national habeas institute

The National Habeas Institute believes in treating people like people and that everyone deserves a bite, an opportunity at justice.

The Framers of the United States Constitution agreed, as evidenced by their provision for a writ of habeas corpus in the Constitution. But the U.S. Constitution does not provide immigrants, death row prisoners, or people facing long sentences with the right to a lawyer to help with the challenge. The National Habeas Institute is here to make habeas more accessible to prisoners and detainees in need of assistance and train quality advocates to help.

We’re people, too. Learn who we are and why we’re passionate about helping people during the habeas process.
